Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Felli isn't a terrible player mate... he is a somewhat clumsy player who's been mis-handled and labelled as terrible and nowt but someone to lump the ball up to when chasing a game.

Not suggesting we should even consider thinking about re-signing him - just my take on him as a player.
Fair enough mate, each to this own.

I'd like to see us bring in a dynamic midfielder with pace and an engine.

You dont sell your star midfielder for £100m (assuming that is going to happen) and replace him with some bloke from the Russian league

Italian media is worse than ours, and thats really saying something.

In fairness they're supposedly after some bloke from the Championship as well...

Off to Juventus then is he?

I think they're trying to sell Witsel to every Italian club, so when he joins us they can say something like
'he wanted more money in premier league'

Then they have full licence to write articles about the ghastly English again.

We won't be spending anything on a 'superstar' CB until our current superstar CB leaves Zat.

And yeh I agree that Carvalho would be ideal for Koeman's 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 (which is how he set us up against Barnsley) - and Barks absolutely thrived in the role on the left of that 3.

However, that's because he had the space and time on the ball and he doesn't get that in the PL. As good as he is we know that sides do double up on him and the best way to solve that IMO is getting a playmaker in of the quality of Mata or even Sigurdsson that creates more room.

In my view a player like that is worth the £25/30mil as it'll also help us get the best out of Barks.

While I'm at it, also expect Kev to have a good season this year if he can stay fit through pre-season and the early part of the campaign, while Del will certainly be fitter (the pre-match warm-ups alone were intense so training must be double-so, especially atm). Lennon I reckon will also feature quite a bit.

good points, but teams could double up on barkley because they knew we had barry and mccarthy behind him who wouldn't go past the halfway line. If he has players the calibre of carvalho and witsel alongside him, they won't be able to afford to double up on him, spaces would appear elsewhere and for barkley himself as a consequence.
