Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Why wouldn't they talk to anyone else? Don't get that.

A very reputable source says Usmanov will be in full control before Xmas and Moshri, his partner in many businesses, is holding the fort so to say.

If this was the case then Usmanov is, I'm told, a big player at Gazprom who basically fund Zenit.

Zenit are notoriously difficult to deal with so it wouldn't be wild to assume we're getting some preferential treatment here if the Usmanov rumours are true.

Gazprom don't just fund Zenit mate, they own the football club

Usmanov was more than just a big player in Gazprom as he was the Managing Director of the company for about a decade and oversaw it 'retrieving' a lot of it's assets that had been stolen in the aftermath of the Yeltsin era land/asset grabbing that went on - he was also the MD during the time they actually bought Zenit as well, most of the current Gazprom board are appointees he made - as is the current MD who was his choice in successor.

Not a stretch of the imagination at all mate, Moshiri has serious connections to Gazprom and by proxy to Zenit (the Gazprom MD also is the Chairman of Zenit).

For a notoriously difficult club to deal with, have we had one single problem reported in negotiating with them, or has the problem all been via Witsels agents messing around?

Italian clubs on the other hand have been routinely slapped down by Zenit every time they have tried to deal with them, Napoli, AC and Juve over the past 2 years alone

We're signing a judge?

Haha what? In control of Everton? People really need to get off the acid.

mate reckons signing today announcement later today or tomorrow. Never had anything off him to know if he's reliable or not

We've heard stuff like this so many times. We'd surely have heard through one of the normal confirmation media sources (Joyce,Hunter,King) if anything was this close, surely. I know signings are coming, but hard to believe any club announcement comes today out of the blue. I sure hope I'm wrong.
