Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

same but it's just a case of wait and see I think. Another one that could well drag on all the way to deadline day.

I think Witsel will stay if he has assurances from Juve they'll come in for him next year.

if Juve up their bid to Zenit, he'll sign for them this summer.

If neither of the above happen he'll happily come to us.

So basically, we're his ten to two girl?

Nice to be wanted eh...

Thing is though, Witsel is 27 now, so this is a massive decision for him, come to us, no European footy, mid - table team, and buy into a 'project' that may/ may not come off, or, go to a top European team, challenging for their league title, guaranteed Champs league, big chance of silverware, and finish his career off on a high.

At the end of the day, this could easily be his last big move.

Sounds like Everton aren't planning to do the city model HOWEVER....

look at their first few seasons building their squad. They tried to sign loads of big players and had to settle for 1 or 2.
They started by weakening teams around the premiership. Looks like that's the way to start. Improves the team and weakens around.
Then you can attract the top players around the world!

City didnt have FFP restrictions.

They also had vastly more money that any other team in the league bar Chelsea, hence the ability to "cherry pick" from the English teams.

In order to "match" Citys first window in terms of spending we would probably need to spend in excess of 300-350m.

The Robinho they bought back then was a "Grade A player", probably the Pogba of his time.

Juve don't need to sell pogba for financial reasons. They are one of the biggest and richest clubs in Europe. Plus, FFP in europe is dead and it doesn't apply in italy

Can't understand why we have 570+ pages on a guy that potentially doesn't want to sign for us.....I don't think we are able to compete with Juve and CL footie quite yet so maybe it's time to forget this until he has signed for someone !!!

I have no sympathy for people who earn 10's of thousands of pounds per week to kick a ball. They're all big money moves and he's still treating us like that ugly bird you pull at ten to two.

Witsel has agreed a contract with juve, now as @theesk has said, its through a 3rd party intermediary. This is because Juve have not yet agreed a fee with zenit so permission has not been given to talk directly.

Mata of time now

I said an intermediary had negotiated contract terms with Juve, and had suggested fees to Zenit. Juve to my knowledge have not spoken directly to Zenit.

The comments from Zenit today did not in my opinion suggest a move to Juve was imminent.

Sounds off though.
