I can understand the Italian media making up rumours but he's the ex director! Unless he's reading the papers like everyone else (which I doubt) then for him to make a statement like this suggests that its more than paper talk.


Also, Zenit's manager was talking up Juve too earlier

"Everything is alright if we receive an offer that is good for the club and for him. If Juventus take him now rather than next year [when his contract expires], they already have a player who is ready.

Seems like we are being ignored by all parties here, with everyone pushing (or hoping for a Juve deal).

I honestly just want him (rather Pogba) to hurry up and move so everything else can get moving.

do they need to have a bid at this point? if/when Pogba goes, that frees up a tremendous amount of money for them to simply match/come close to our bid and it's over.


mind, I don't really care either way if he comes or not. feel like we have spent way more time on this deal than we should have.

We should have moved on from this deal about 2 weeks ago. Would go for Strootman on a season loan with an option to buy for £30 million should he play a certain number of games for us. Failing that must be at least one CM out there who's good enough for a top 6/7 side who isn't quite at CL level who would come and improve us.

I said earlier it is in Zenit's interests to talk up Juve as they need to spark their interest in case Witsel says it's Juve or I stay.

However I'll return to my point that Witsel has not dismissed Everton which if he was to do so would give him a free run at Juve.

Probably because they are not fully committed. If they wanted him that much they would match our fee.

Read what I put about perceived quality. Was gonna put a footnote about Besic being crocked all the time but thought it was stating the obvious. Just saying that there are options in the middle. Don't think that stockpiling players is good either. I think that Gibson could be a revelation this season providing he stays fit and of the ale. Big IF though

Gibson - deadwood.. cant believe he got a new deal.
McCarthy - does a job. Vision of Stevie Wonder. Probably get a game when we are expected to get a battering in midfield.
Cleverly - Squad player at best
Besic - Injury prone. Could be good, at the minute squad player at best.

Barkley - Obvious starter
Davies - looks good, break through season so cant expect too much
Dowell - Same as Davies

Barry - Best player we have at CM... collects pension on Tuesdays

Mate for me dud is equal to limited! We have a pressing need for at least 2 quality footballers in the midfield and another scoring option or we wiil struggle to score this season.
