Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Mate for me dud is equal to limited! We have a pressing need for at least 2 quality footballers in the midfield and another scoring option or we wiil struggle to score this season.

How will adding Witsel or Carvalho (neither renowned for their goalscoring prowess) increase our goal threat? Same midfield as past 3 seasons more or less and we scored plenty. That argument isn't valid mate sorry.

Barry.
Gibson.
McCarthy.
Cleverley.
Besic.

Barkley.
Davies.
Dowell.

Hardly limited. Lacking in the perceived level of quality according to some on here, maybe but I don't think the options are limited by any stretch.
Lacking in perceived level of quality = limited. I don't think anyone imagined how difficult it would be to bring in players once the money was available. I don't want to see Lukaku go. It is stupid money for a limited player, but how could he be replaced? Sell Stones, and get a move on in bringing in some much needed quality - particularly in midfield. Might also be an idea in taking a gamble on some young foreign strikers, in the hope one will click for a time when Lukaku can go. But that time is not now.

WTF you on about? Selling Stones and Rom has absolutely no correlation to the previous points being raised. There is money before we sell. Plus we just signed Gana.

dont know about goal threat, but Witsel in particular would get the ball forward more them McCarthy, 78% of his passes in the Euros where forward.

While i know that doesn't mean we would instantly score more from it, having the ball moved up the pitch quicker and not backwards and sideways should give a better opportunity for chances.

I agree. The transition needs to be swift. Personally I think Witsel could be that "pivot" player if you like but no reason that Mcarthy couldn't be coached by Koeman to doing similar, if after all he is as good a coach as we think. Its what coaches do and are paid handsomely to do. Agree?

Surely the club must know if juve are genuinely interested as soon as pogba is sold witsel won't be interested in us? Seems strange we are still waiting on this when no other bids have been accepted for him. He's making it pretty obvious we are his back up option if nothing else happens.

Seeing as this seems to hinge on the Pogba transfer, what's keeping that from going through?

Mourinho quote had me laughing -
"I don't want to speak about Paul Pogba because he is a Juventus player and I don't like other managers speaking about my players. I don't speak about their players.

Yes Jose I remember all those times you didn't talk about John Stones.

He is interested but he is also awaiting offer from Juve.

He's an honourable man and so are they all, all honourable men (or something).

582 pages and counting on one player.....I've not really seen enough of him to comment but what will be will be....Trust in our new set-up and I'm sure we are going to have a few surprises before the end of the deadline !
