That is not really the point from an Everton perspective. It isn't a contest about which club is most desirable , if he was holding out for some tin pot club in Turkey we still would not have the player signed, the season is edging closer and even though I readily accept that there are more footballers than Witsel to be bought and we have seen that our midfield needs strengthening asap. How much longer do we wait ? how much longer does Witsel wait ?

what are you on about? we definitely would!

from our pov we agreed a fee with Zenit ages ago, and agreed in principle terms with Witsel.

As he's our no.1 target and we're willing to shell out the money to bring him here we're willing to wait as long as it takes, I imagine.
