Nah if a new member signed up and posted what Dave does blasting Brands, Moshiri & saying BMD was a no go he would be labelled a kopite lurker/WUM.

I like Davek (even though I disagree with him on Voldemort) however he does seem to get a pass with some because he's been a long standing poster / is liked by the cool gang - others with similiar opinions to his on certain subjects however are fair game.

It winds me up when people say I put people on ignore cos I dont like different views, ive been on this forum over 10 years, in that time I dont recall ever sharing the same view as Dave and ive never once put him or considered putting him on ignore, I even supported him when he was banned. Different views are great, I love it when people have a different view to me, theres nothing better than a well thought out back and forth and sharing of views, thats the whole point in the forum.

The reason I put people on ignore is not due to their views, its that im scared some of their stupidity will somehow rub off on me.

I call Dave out constantly, everybody calls Dave out all the time, a LOT of people have Dave on ignore.

I mean I dunno how many accounts you have had over the years, but Dave has been fighting the fight for 10 years, mostly solo against 000s, hes a true war hero.

His hatred if the RS quite often spills over onto the RS forums and they hate him with a passion.

That alone gives him a very special place on this forum.

Plus his negativity is measured and balanced, not just day upon day of the same thing over and over again.

I don't think he gets a free pass, just think it's more a case of respect because he will have an opinion and fervently debate it.
