Baines Flattered by United Link

Personally I think he would stay, as people always say at Everton - the grass isn't always greener. At Everton he suits us, we suit him. At United I think his forward runs but less wanted and he would cut out the few mistakes he does.

LEIGHTON BAINES says he has no problems with speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United, but insists he loves Everton and would find it hard to leave.

“The United link is flattering,â€￾ Baines said. “There is no harm in people talking about it because it is a great club. But I’m at a great club as well, a club that I love. The focus now is all on the tournament. There's not much time to let other things seep in.â€￾

Baines added: “Would it be hard to turn United down? I'm not letting my focus shift to that while I am in camp. I'm focused on what I'm doing at the moment.

“Would it be hard to leave Everton? Yes, obviously. You know what it means. I've been there for five years myself but also know first-hand what it means to a lot of people so, yes it would be.â€￾

He'd do well at United. It wouldn't be a case of the grass not being greener because he'd be going to the right club for all the right reasons. Let's hope United don't bid.

you may be right I may not want too see it until something concrete happens is all. I know if they bid he's gone i'm still hopeful though and will not cause myself anguish before i have to.
