Baines Flattered by United Link

In fairness to baines, at least his comments let us still demand a high fee. If he leaves, he's still trying to ensure everton get a fair price. Had he said "playing for Manu has been a lifelong dream." we would lose any leverage.

I'm really glad that Jags has got into the England squad with Baines now. Chances are they will room together and Jags can fend off the Man Utd contingent getting in Baines ear telling him what a great club Utd are and convincing him to move.

I also hope Baines has had a chat with Pienaar too and realised the grass isn't always greener (particularly if your not playing on it and sitting on the bench every week).

I'm fairly confident he will stay. Fellaini worries me more.

Imagine being on 3 million notes a year and having to share a room with someone in a hotel. That always strikes me as weird.

Baines won't force a move, he's not the type. If Everton reject the bid, he'll stay.

Problem is, Everton won't reject the bid.

I wasn't worried about Fellaini leaving until Chelsea started collecting Belgian players.

I can see him going for something stupid like £14m if United are after him. I don't see why they need him though, its more likely City will bid I'd of thought.

Still, hope whoever does, bids early so we can buy replacements.

Looking at Man Utd's CB's I'd say the Jag was a more realistic target than Baines for them. Smalling and Jones aren't up to it at CB and Rio is finished.
