Baines Flattered by United Link

I don't like the way Fox is being portrayed as a second rate sauce to LCAB/THT. Fox is stellar with info at both ends of the scale. I trust him implicitly, where Everton are concerned.

As some have said, I think they might both be right. Practically it's as good as done, without any OFFICIAL bid being lodged.

The irony is, they both have different sources, so get different bits of info which they share with each other.

They are basically 1 big sauce tank.

An official bid has not been received.
That in my eyes does not mean that unofficial talks have not been had whereby utd ask if we would be interested in dealing if they were to put in an official bid.
I think a bid will be coming and both itk parties are right, just worded differently.
Time will tell and thx for info fox.

How much did we spend on Baines and Lescott though? Around £10m. We wouldn't have bought Arteta if it wasn't for the Rooney money and wouldn't have bought Heitinga or Distin if it wasn't for the Lescott money.
It's different now the banks and our creditors are not being so kind with us, hence we'll be left with not an awful lot to spare, besides over half of it will be needed to get one of our former players back.

So you think selling the squad's best and most marketable players who has at least 4-5 years of top class football in him for squad depth is moving forward?

I'll stand by what I wrote earlier in that Moyes will be lucky to see £6M of that money, so £4M is a lot for a mercenary who ironically probably plays better with Baines, albeit he'll come with virtually no re-sale value which doesn't really strike me as a good footballing decision let alone a good financial one.

I accept you trying to remain positive about it all, but selling your key/quality players just to make more numbers strikes me a recipe for disaster, and if this selling club policy carries on, eventually we'll run out of quality players and our once great club will be in a much bigger world of sh¡t.

That's a ridiculous statement, quite frankly. Both times that the club has sold £20m rated players Moyes has been given a large amount of the proceeds to spend. I have no idea where you're getting that £6m figure from but it's not based on anything i've seen, heard or read anywhere.

It's not really about being 'positive', it's simply my opinion that keeping Baines and thus not improving the squad as a whole is not a viable option.

Selling a big player and using the proceeds to buy 2 or 3 players is the way of business for almost every club outside of the top 5. Look at what Newcastle have done. It's not just about simply buying 'more' players either. This team has lacked a right winger for years and years, and we are in dire need of a replacement for Cahill behind the striker, as well as needing a left sided player. Selling Baines will allow Moyes to fund most if not all of those.

Pienaar was bought for 3m and sold for 2.5m.

In his 16 games back he created more chances than any else had all Season.

Hes worth the 4m.

That's simply not true, LCAB himself has said that the banks realise a football club needs players to continue as a business.

LOL, you think Moyes would buy a RW and an AM??

Probably 2 CBs and a GK.
