I'm happy he's staying, don't get me wrong.

I just think he's got the talent to step up to the next level...but I'm guessing he's scared to.

Until he's gone up against some top European teams, he's always gonna be a "good player" to everyone outside Everton

Honeslty, keep Baines and Felli, and add Pienaar and I'm ok with that. Would still like to add LD in November or later, and then make a run. This would be the most settled Everton side in recent memory to start the year.

Just as a fan of the player and his talent, he owes himself to step up to the top level and win somethings in my view.

He could end up being one of the best left backs this country has ever produced...but never won anything. Indeed be forgotten about by being just a good player

While i agree with you in a sense. But i have to say, those who dont rate him apart from us are ignorant in my opinion. How can nobody see what he brings to the team. People forming opinions on him because of the opposition he has or hasnt faced is ridiculous, same as people judging Jelavic before he came.

But that what forms a good player. A great player steps up against a messi or robben in the champions league and doesn't embarrass himself. Baines has never been in that position, so hell always be at a certain level

So from that angle, you see where others will always have doubts.

Agreed mate. He probably enjoys his life as it is and doesn't want to mess with it. Family, friends, stays off the front pages and gets paid handsome wages for being a model pro footballer. Whatever he does I wish him well.
