Baines: We have no chemistry

What did Jags say mate? I pretty much turned off yesterday right after the whistle.
Less of what he said and more how he said it, all epitomised by his body language and the downtrodden tone of his voice.

The most telling part for me though was his almost faux pas, beginning to mention our "slu.." before rewording it as a little run of loses.

Yes Phil it is a slump as well know it, it's just a shame you're probably not allowed to acknowledge it within the positive camp.

He's not wrong though.

Our play is noticeably stagnant. No instinctive passes, nobody looking to spot the run, no real flair. All the things that happen when a team has chemistry and know each other's strengths, weaknesses and playing styles.

Some games we show it and we can get from our box to theirs in 3 passes and create a chance. Most games we take about 5 minutes to reach the final third and then look clueless.

Clearly all the team building cycling trips in Austria aren't working.

Just copy Leicester's pre season and we'll be sound.

A player and team crying out for a manager, a manager that can help players understand their roles in the team. A manager that can help players perform to the best of their ability for the team. Remember when this guy was one of the best deadball specialists in the premiership and one of the highest rated LB's in europe. Martinez has destroyed his game.

He's spot on with what he says.

The interview probably won't go down well with the coaching staff, but he's not blaming them directly, if anything, he's saying it's down to the players.

Proper pro and dead honest is Leighton.
He's absolutely right from how I read it. You need partnerships to provide tempo and belief. Coaching staff can't force that in my opinion. Either happens or you take time developing it.
