He would be, if it was 2009. But since Liverpool, he's failed at Inter, Napoli, and Read Madrid. I won't even add Chelsea and Newcastle to that list, they were out of pure desperation. Benitez has regressed very, very badly. Not worth the punt imo.
Are you forgetting all the trophies he's won since 2009, and the Geordies are pleading with him to stay? He got Napoli CL , that's some failure, when you think of the pish we've been watching

He inherited a great squad. He got them CL, them promptly exited in the qualifying rounds to Bilbao and finished 5th that same season. If anything, they regressed under him.

Wow, so winning about ten cups and Euro finals galore just doesn't cut it with you then?

I've been in there, it's all Koeman and d boer?

More or less, +/- a few others. I'm not denying that Benitez has won a lot during his career, I'm just saying that he's on the down whereas we need a manager on the up. Benitez's teams haven't played good football in years. Overall, he's done a poor job with the vast resources he's had at the teams he's managed since Liverpool.

On the down?
He's like 4 years older than Koeman and has won trophies nearly every year for the last 15 years. How many has Koeman won? Ordinarily a club due to finish 16th wouldn't have a hope of getting him but we have him in the vicinity as luck would have it.
When this guy says he'll get you CL, it's something you can probably rely on.
