tell you one thing about beattie , hedv [Poor language removed] loved leighton baines . in 2 yrs you cant count the crosses he had to run onto , facing their goal , on one hand . also , anyone who watched him celebrate a goal when warming up , would only have good thoughts towards old beats . shame , is all ill say . lcab (y)

yup.... ahh well onwards and upwards EFC i dont think we'll be missing him by the end of the season. Actually, i dont miss him much at all - i was begging for us to sell him

I still love the man, he wanted to prove to us so badly about what he could do and was always such a hard worker. Great devotion to us, but I wish he'd accept that there was no choice left.

robson has never been the most defensive minded manager, maybe naysmith cant quite organise the rest of the defence ;)

Get this re-ignited, Beattie scored a Hattrick in the first 20 Minutes today, header, freekick and penalty

saw beattie play earlier this season against west brom... and he scored. i wonder what his opinion of us is, there doesn't seem to be many that rate him as crap in fact the general consensus seems to be that it was just one of those signings that didn't work out....for us or him, other players who have been in the same boat have been called every name under the sun, up until the day he left it seems we were all desperate for him to find some form and i myself am pleased for the lad that things seem to be going right for him, the sheff. utd fans will idolise the guy if he has a few more like today but i think he'll have to ditch the blue lambo to get them completely onside.

Its a shame that the board chose Robson to screw everything up because they've won 6 straight now.

I was at Brammall Lane on Saturday, as my brother is a Blades fan. Obviously a good day at the office for JB, but I overheard a couple of fans grumbling that he doesn't contribute much to the team except for his goals, which seemed fair comment even on this performance. He was substituted in the 2nd half, though that could be because he's just back from injury.

Scored a 30 yard freekick for them today to earn them a draw...very good apparently...he curled it in - now why did he never do that for us?

was never allowed to take free kicks, and the blades don't make him play alone or out of position. That is my thoughts anyway. We managed him wrong.

i agree we didn't manage him so he could play at his optimum, but we did what we could given the squad we had.

i'm proud that i actually called this one right (since i'm usually so terrible at calling it), but i knew beattie would do well wherever he went, he's a good striker, but he just didn't quite click with our club beyond that one season. he's inconsistent, but i had a hunch he could find consistency somewhere, i wish him plenty of success with the blades now.
