Beer, revisited

Anyone got any special beers for the Christmas period? I've got one each of the Buxton/Omnipollo collaborations to savour! Can't wait.

I tried a St Bernardus Christmas, it was nice

Been trying a lot of Bell's recently (a Michigan brewer; too bad Chico isn't here to joke on the name.) They've got some really solid brews in a range of styles and I like them a lot.

Expedition Stout is really sweet; almost too much in the first bottle, but when I finished the sixer I wished I had more

Their Barleywine, my first of this sort (I understand this is an American style, but tastes like certain Belgian styles)

And their Best Brown

Looks very nice!

It's really good. I also like the Delerium tremens and nocturnum. Not Christmas brews, per se, but fitting for the holidays*. (*especially so, depending how much you enjoy your visitors)

Also, love Prairie's Christmas Bomb!, but a bit pricey at $10 (~£6) per bottle. And you can't get this outside of the US I don't think. The others are all Belgian and you should be able to get them easily in the UK.

They all sound great. Love a nice dark beer at Christmas. Shame not many of the US ones make it over here and those that do are quite expensive.

Which ones?

I have 4 bottles of Yellow Belly that I've been saving for Xmas and Boxing day, but have recently tried their,

Lemon Meringue Ice Cream Pie,
Ice Cream Pale Ale,
Rocky Road Ice Cream,
Texas Pecan Ice Cream collaborations.

Really liked them all for different reasons, but the two dark ones, Rocky Road and Texas Pecan, were fantastic and similar in style to the Yellow Belly.

You can get a few Prairie's, about £10 a bottle though. Then again, I was drinking Cantillon Mamouche and a 2013 Saint Lamvinus the other day, aware how much they are over there!
