Beer, revisited

Red Horse. A beer brewed in the Philippines. 6.9% alcohol and smooth as hell. Couldn't get enough of it on my trip there. Half a litre cost just over $1 Canadian.

Revisited an old favourite in the form of Hobgoblin Gold, but in a can not bottle.
Sounds daft but the 440ml can just right and pours better than the bottle. More of a summer drink I reckon, but just nice at present.

There's quite a few doing ale in cans now. I haven't had any but the write ups are good so far.
Bought the ale in the cans primarily because it was on offer at Asda at £4 for four and not expecting a brilliant experience, but was proved wrong. Went out and bought a further dozen and they have chilled quite nicely out in the garage.

Another bargain at £2.19 from Wetherspoons.
Bitter and proud.

So this has been maturing nicely for a few years, waiting for a fitting occasion. Tonight's the night. I'm sitting down to watch that glorious game again with possibly the last bottle of Cains beer in existence.

A well kept Cains Bitter was amongst the best beers I've ever had.

The Dispensary in Liverpool City Centre always sold the most prefect pint you'd ever taste.

I remember taking a mate from Yorkshire there and he became such a fan of Cains bitter, that he persuaded the licencee of his local on the Yorkshire Wolds to stock it.

RIP Cains.

Had the pleasure of an early finish to work. Popped in to Wetherspoons and to my extreme delight they had

Such a tasty, tasty beer with the added bonus of a reasonable price. Apparently ' Spoons' ale is discounted on a Monday. Wallowing in a hazy glow eating ham and eggs. Just thought you'd like to know.
