Beer, revisited

Was at an office in Beijing for a week and the colleagues left me a few bottles of beer on my desk as a sort of welcome gift. Tsingtao is the name of the beer, and it's kin minging. Still, nice of them to leave me a gift.

Was also in the Philippines and they have San Miguel Light (they call it San Mig Light) and it's actually decent! Looked on the bottle and it said 5% which had me stumped seeing as they call it light, but it's very refreshing when you're sat outside of an evening in 30 degrees heat still.

I think ‘light’ refers to carbs

It's a rice beer and you can get it in a few restaurants in town - the North Garden certainly does sell it. A peculiar and acquired tasted I admit!

This proved a far bigger draw, lazing in a sunlit beer garden, than the shenanigans down South, and the Cup final.

Thanks Iron Maiden, and that's something I never imagined I would say.
