think I'll be going to the Wirral beer festival over Easter again this year. Are there any in Liverpool coming up?That`s what beer festivals are for
The big one is the Liverpool beer festival in the crypt of Paddy’s Wigwam, but doubtful you’ll get tickets.
There’s another one in the Bombed out church in April that looks interesting.
A couple of offerings from the weekend:
Hyde’s - Lowry ( 4.7%)
Castle Rock - Elsie Mo (4.7%)
The Hyde’s was a bit bland tbh, but the Castle Rock was very good. Like a stong old fashioned pale ale, as opposed to an IPA.
Plus you don’t see many unPC beer pump clips around these days either !

I tried some of this yesterday and I've got to say it's one of my favourite beers in a long time.
Can’t be doing with all the PC nonsense on beer pump clips tbh. It’s no different than saucy seaside post cards - tongue in cheek.

I was expecting it to be stronger based on the name so shocked it was closer to a session ale at a mere 4.2%. It's a very light, pale and drinkable.
Unfortunately, as I was only having a swift one I couldn't tell if it was a loopy juice or not by testing it more than once.
I was looking at a local brewery this weekend just what they have. Breweries keep on making a joke out of what a "session" beer is supposed to be. 5.7% session IPA.

still, though it screams "Brooklyn/Shoreditch 2007" as loud as it can, and while it's no Beer Lao Dark, on all but the steamiest high noons it's a better choice than the dire identikit lagers that are 99% of Asian beer
