Quality beer that, not well known. A tad too strong for me, still an extremely enjoyable beer. The bar itself is quality too.For any Wirral folk, or those who like to travel for a good beer, I urge you to visit Trappist in Hoylake. If you’re into your Belgium beers (and who isn’t) you won’t regret it.
Before lockdown they drove to Brugges solely to bring back a few cases of De Garre. I pre ordered 6 bottles as soon as they got back to the UK.
Spot on.Quality beer that, not well known. A tad too strong for me, still an extremely enjoyable beer. The bar itself is quality too.
Those Hoylake people really know their business.
If you ever visit the old WWI memorials in Ypres (the Belgian front, not too far from Bruges), or you travel to the Somme, be sure you don't miss the excellent breweries you pass on your way through... Might save you a pretty penny
That’s the one pal, what a place.
Well, this is exciting!Good news.
Spot on.
I went to ‘the’ bar in Brugges that brewed the De Garre I believe, served with lovely little chunks of cheese.
I can’t wait to go back one day.
More follows !Well, this is exciting!
Best beer I had in Bruges was called a Westvleteren 12 which was shipped in from an abbey of Trappist monks. You could only get it from one bar in Bruges and only at certain times of the year as they didn't brew many crates. It was expensive but SO tasty. Tasted like honey.
you should see how much these sell for here and in the US, $20+ easy
