Beer, revisited

Now that stout has become fashionable again, I love what some of the smaller brewers are doing with it.

A decent stout, is a thing of beauty.

i know i've mentioned this in the thread before, but if you can get Prairie Ales in the UK (from Oklahoma, of all places!) these are [redcated] good brews. they're expensive, though, but the only reason not to buy one is the risk of addiction. Any of their "bomb" stouts is a must-buy.

I can safely say that of all the truly great stouts that I have enjoyed, Prairie Bomb line is second to non.

This was a fun idea but like rocking horse doodoo over here.

Fantastic news from down Brizzle way. The Kings Arms on Victoria St has reopened. This proper, proper boozer has been shut for the best part of three years I think, and it was looking like it might shut altogether. But Good Chemistry have swooped in, knocked it into shape and reopened. We've had a couple of best and a brace each of a lovely chocolatey mild.

This pub has a special place in my heart as it was the last place I had a good session with my grandad before he passed.
