Beer, revisited

Anyone know what`s going on with the old Cains Brewery Tap, as it`s never open ?

I`ve been to the Baltic Market loads recently and it`s never open, no matter what time you go at.
Fella who owns punch tarmeys owns it , you’re right it’s hardly ever open .last I heard I Don’t think he feels it takes enough to make it viable , you’ll see it open more at weekends when the weather gets warmer but this time of year I think you’ll be lucky to see it open .

Thanks.

It’s bouncing around there, but it‘s a real young crowd, so I suppose he knows his clientele.

Honestly I don’t know , I think most publicans would have it open just to see.

You’ll get a few in there on weekends as they walk passed but generally it’s pretty quiet , once a couple of punters get in there though it can fill up pretty quickly . I might be wrong but I think he’s turned down a couple of offers to lease it but maybe he’d take a similar offer now .

It’s a real shame, as it’s great boozer.

It is indeed , used to drink there years ago then it got a new life about 4 years ago . Like you say it’s now a shell of those days . Last time I was in there I think it was struggling to know it’s identity, which I think is a problem with a boozer opening intermittently and its location .

I'd be interested in doing something like this. How did you choose the kit? Is there anything in particular you should be taking into account when shopping around?
Asked an ex work mate of mine who brews for abit advice and mainly it comes down what your comfortable spending, size of kit and if you've got the room for a full set up.

What your looking at there cost me 500 quid, but got i terrible fright when the Ups delivery driver told me he couldn’t release my delivery until i paid a 100 pound surcharge due to it coming from Denmark.

The set up itself is still short of a few things I.e temp control fridge for the fermentation stage of the brewing but am in contact with my pal over what's needed once am ready I'll put up a stage by stage update on here if anyone is interested.

There`s a real craft beer scene down there, so if they could tap into that and throw a few of the new Cains stuff and some other local stuff, that`d be the way forward for me.

I know Dom and Fiona, from the Bridewell were going to take it, prior to the Bridewell, but smelt a rat and pulled out, which looks like good judgement.

They ran it for a bit but yeah planned to take it themselves before it fell through . certainly looks like done the right thing with the relative businesses , bridewell and the Denbigh performing well .

Interested in purchasing that piece of kit myself.

Would heat belt be a more cost effective option for that?
