I get given bland supermarket ale every birthday and Christmas. People think they've made an effort to give you 'real ale', but I haven't got the heart to tell them it's crap. lolGeneric supermarket real ale, same as Hobgoblin etc.

Quite expensive, but I occasionally go here :The problem lies with the fact that the little breweries, can`t compete with the big boys and the way the supermarkets do business and hold a gun to the suppliers heads over costs.
The only supermarket that I`ve found, that has a really good range of bottled ale from smaller breweries, is the Lancashire and Cumbrian supermarket, Booths.
The likes of Asda / Tesco / Morrissons / Sanisbury etc, all tend to sell much of the same stuff
