This one is decent. Sweet front end, a bit of attack at the finish, but nothing crazy. The name, of course, is one of these hipster-tries-too-hard ones though. Evil Santa sounds so 90s.

Vocation and Brew York combine to splendid effect with a sweet and tasty but surprisingly light chocolate stout. Excellent.

We go out to a country pub now and again, that’s a Lees pub.

I like their beers, but they remind me a lot of Sam Smiths in that they’re beers have quite a unique taste, that can divide opunion.

I think JW use their own yeast which is very old, or something like that

Really excellent approximation of a German bock from the folks at Good Chem, definitely one of my favourite styles is bock - dark, strong, sweet and a bit spicy.

Conversation between my mate and a woman at a beer festival in Stanley dock 30-odd years ago -
“can you pour that away please” ( J.W. Lees something)
“Is it not to your taste ?”
“Have you been washing your tights in it ?”
