Bellew-Haye

Tony took this fight for cash mate.

It's a no lose bout for him with it being at heavyweight, as even if he gets smashed early on he can just revert back to cruiser and defend his belt.

Genuinely think he may just sack it off mate. He's clearly struggling with the camps more and more and getting down to cruiser again will be hard work

By that point he's won a world title at Goodison, defended it, then fought at heavy for a huge pay day

The silk pyjamas will be on

Who wins and who do you want to win??

I want Bellew for the scousers/blue connection but I think the absolute weapon Haye will finish him inside 3 rounds!
I think Bellew is an absolute weapon too. I hope neither win.

I do think Haye will flatten him though. 4-5 rounds may be.

Agreed.

If he fights any of the other leading men in the Cruiserweight division he will get pasted anyway.

BTW- do you see the gloves are off? Was crying at how easy Bellew winds Haye up

You could be right mate, he'll have reached his goal, which was originally to have enough cash to buy 10 terraced houses.

Haye went from saying a chilled "I'm going to knock him out" to completely losing his rag and giving offensive outbursts.

Either this is because he know he'll easily win and he's had enough of Bellew acting like he'll win or he's actually lost his head.

Personally - I think Bellew has done this for the big pay day and is just going to try his best.

Bellew has got under his skin as he has completely owned him in the build up, and Hayes ego can't handle it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie was near enough Tony's biggest payday before this fight , he's earned this both by his career thus far and by creating a situation that meant Haye was interested and clamour generated .

As for the fight Haye has been at this weight for years and been comfortable at it whilst it's a step up for Bellew. That in itself is a risk , Haye was also in his prime one of the best fighters we've produced . Haye can certainly bang and has taken a dig from some big heavyweights and stood up to it .

All that certainly puts him as a serious favourite. In bellew's favour you've got an opponent who hasn't had a test more than sparring for about 4 years and has had some injuries in the past .

You'd obviously have to make Haye a favourite but he also missed with shots in his last couple of fights and he didn't trust himself to face a decent opponent . if he misses against Bellew he's got a real chance of getting tagged and if he takes one then he's going to have to rethink his whole plan and thought process to the fight, everyone has a plan til somebody hits them . I'd also say his fitness might rightly be a worry and ring fit is very different to him looking the part .

you'd hope that the way Tony has got under his skin might also be a factor and have an effect on Haye and we might see him less than clinical , which is clearly what Bellew is aiming for .

I'm hoping this injury stuff might have an effect even if it's just Haye trying to give himself an out. he's pulled out before against opponents and I'm not sure he'd have a future if he did it again . Hearn and bellew called him on it and it seems the fight will be going ahead , they attitude suggests they were concerned it could go off but somebody with a dodgy Achilles surely doesn't kick a football on soccer am do they ?

Sorry for all that rambling , in short like most I think Haye may well be too big so it could be over early but I think a few factors give Bellew a slight chance . That's probably me just being hopeful though , first couple of exchanges will tell us that's for sure .

No it's been his goal throughout.

10 houses = security and income for him and his family.

Good man - nice to hear that.

I might be wrong but I believe the reason Haye came out of retirement is due to himself running low on funds after living a life of luxury in Dubai, even promoting rubbish teeth whitening like the z list celebs do.

if this fight goes anywhere past 4 rounds it will be astonishing. both fighters will be throwing all they have got and tony gasses after 3 rounds as it is, with an extra stone he will be proper toast by 3 rounds. haye will have the better engine even if he is rusty.

haye will have the better technique and is very accurate, whilst tony just lets the gloves fly and is wild.

if i was backing a result it would KO in round 3 - win for haye

Haye blew a wedge trying to promote himself as a potential movie star in the States. He then got divorced last year, and rinsed for half of what was left.

He's come back for the cash, nothing more nothing less.

Funny enough I think the longer it goes the better for tony , Haye talking up saying he thinks Bellew "will be a rat and run away " indicates to me he'd prefer him to trade .

Absolutely

good post that mate, I watched the Haye v carl Thompson fight again last night just to remind me , why I have given a small chance of winning, Haye battered him for two rounds and most of the third, near the end of that round carl hits him back, rounds four and five basically have Haye trying knockout digs then running out of steam and ideas till it gets stopped , this was by a 40yr old man by the way, so here's hoping
