I don't get the RW with pace shouts - have you seen James?

We have Gordon, Iwobi and Bernard who can all slot in if James is out. Carlo doesn't play touchline wingers, he prefers them cutting in, and that's what those three can do.

That's the issue
Gordon is LW ,Iwobi isn't good enough and seemingly Carlo does not fancy Bernard
James will need to be rested and a winger with pace gives options
if we want a counter attacking CF as reported by Carlo then we need a fast winger

Just watched a highlights reel and to be honest, I'm not too impressed, he backed off further than Mina on a number of occasions, he didn't seem to want to attack the ball at any time.
I fear we may have to wait a little while to see the best of Godfrey.

Coleman will be a huge loss. The RSs strength is down the left with the Mane - Robertson partnership. It is a baptism of fire if Godfrey is selected at RB, but in my mind it’s the only option as the RS will target this side and in particular Davies should he play there out of position.

Davies playing there would be suicidal wouldn’t it. Our slowest , weakest player and the one who continually fouls , against the strongest partnership in the strongest team in Europe

He’s been spending time defending at Norwich. They were all over the show all the time. He just needs some top level coaching from Ancelotti, look at what it’s done for the first team back 4 who are all in their best form now.

Might not be a bad thing having a mobile centreback at right back for the derby. His inclination will be to sit deep and it will be another tall body in there for us as they get a lot of goals from back post headers.

Doucoure will have to cover that right flank regardless as we don’t want the game to turn into Mane and Robertson v James. Ideally they’ll be too preoccupied with Digne Richarlison Gomes that we will be making all the problems on the other flank and Robertson will be havi g ifjtmares trying to track James floating infield.

Martinez did this with Stones and it was probably one of the worst defensive displays I’ve seen. We got bartered 4-0.

We have to give this lad time. He is probably still suffering from PTSD associated with being part of that shocking Norwich defence. Carlo and Marcel see potential there, they just need to bring it out in training.

If he can do a decent job in the second half of the season, I'd call that a win.

Nah but, even though I loved Martinez, that game was suicide.

He had Stones playing as a winger on the opposite side of the pitch to the ball. One goal was just a simple pass through the gap between Stones and a CB.

Godrey at RB is fine if he's just sat in and allows Digne to be the one going forward.

Obviously we want Coleman playing. He's been fantastic.

I do think a lot of that was to do with Alcaraz and a stupidly high line with a guy who couldn't turn though.
