Birds of a feather flock together
The defence is more sound when we play 4 cb. But we miss Digne certainly for his creativity and assists.Has actually made me not miss Digne at all this lad. Been very, very sound all round.

With Godfrey proving to be an absolute beast of an Evertonian, this begs the question: what in the world does Carlo do when Digne comes fit?
So what do you do with Godfrey? Have him ride the bench as a CB/LB option?Puts him back in of course.

Maybe put him in the middle. As good as he’s been defensively he offers zero going forwards and as we’ve seen lately our creativity is also zero. One of the best LB’s in the league must come back in when fit.
I agree Digne has to play. His creativity is unmatched in our team going forward. However, I'd take Godfrey's defending miles over Digne's. I know y'all rate him as "the league's best LB", but he's mostly inconsistent on his defending, whereas Godfrey is a much more natural defender, IMO. Could Digne ever play winger? *ducks and covers*Maybe put him in the middle. As good as he’s been defensively he offers zero going forwards and as we’ve seen lately our creativity is also zero. Digne is consistently one of our best 3 players. This weird set-up suits us just now but is not gonna cut it long term. Could easily have ended 0-0 tonight. Mate you have a good point there. Digne is a great defender and it is just his attacking play that leaves holes in the defence. No I am not blaming him for that I am blaming lack of cover. I feel a midfielder should be offering the cover and not so much our CBs. When our CBs offer the cover then our middle part is exposed and it needs half the team to move over to give that cover hence gaps and spaces appearing all over the back line. We just need the balance and Digne is nailed on. I don't agree that Godfrey is a better defender as I believe if Digne was rooted in postion then he is as good if not better. In a sense these injuries have found us a solution and a different game plan so in future we know we would be able to cope to a degree. We are currently solid but we don't create much so the balance needs to be found. Injuries have been a blessing in disguise in the long term IMOI agree Digne has to play.
