There's someone for everyone.

I dont see it mate.

If he can get more consistent sure. I could see a top 6 side looking at him, maybe Arsenal.

I agree with your thought processes, but wonder if Brainthwaite/Godfrey may be flipped for a massive profit.

This is very much in the medium term though, 2-3 years.

...you keep your best, I’d suggest Godfrey is already our best CB and I wouldn’t be surprised if this time next season Branthwaite is his partner. I’d sell Keane, Mina or Holgate if there’s a need to shift one to raise monies.

Respect your judgment Eggs but not sure how you can say he's our best centre back when he's not really played there for us.
To my recollection he has mostly played left back , right back and once or twice in a back 3.
Long tem you might be correct but far from sure he's there yet.
Be interested though in your views about Godfrey and Holgate as a pair.
Are they a bit too similar with neither being a really dominating presence ?
Anyway when they ban heading in 5 years they may be the perfect pairing.

Absolutely no chance. If we sell a CB it's Mina or Keane.

Think you've got your world-revolves-around-the-PL hat on too. Mina could be shipped off to many European team.

....it’s more about his ‘type’ than Godfrey himself. When I say he’s our best, I perhaps should’ve said our most valuable. We have desperately needed a combative, aggressive CB with a Rolls Royce engine & Godfrey can provide that for years to come.

At the moment I see him more as a Golf GTI than a Rolls Royce.

I think he has a lot to learn positionally but has great athleticism to work with - a bit like DCL 18 months ago.

I think we should keep Holgate. One of the few in our squad who isn't a total coward. And he's good at football to boot.

....spot on Jazzy, there’s a lot of learning to undertake and we have to expect mistakes. He’s raw and top forwards will spin him when he tries to steal the ball, but I like that he speaks about having to improve.

Saying that, he’s got a proper Rolls Royce engine at this moment in time. It’s a brilliant tool to have playing CB as you can almost have an arrogance against the opposition striker. We see it at FB but it’s less beneficial because the really good wingers can stand you up and get half a yard with a dip of the shoulder (Johnny Morrisey).
