This lad has a long way to go, and his biggest mistakes were when he was in the centre half position.

We need to get rid of one, of Mina or Keane and buy a top class CB. And then it’s up to holgate and Godfrey to get the spot next to him.

We won’t do anything playing a low block, which is what we have to do with Keane & Mina

and I he played rather well didn’t he? Where as davies and gomes have about 3 goals and 2 assists between them in over 150 games. Both are slow and offer nothing other than being able to play 3m sideways passes and comitt foils and give pens away . So I’d rather have holgate there tbh

My preferred pair would be Holgate and Godfrey with Mina as back up. I think we gave Keane the new contract as he seemed to have an up turn in form. However in my opinion he doesn't really fit the system we play.

Realistically Mina is the most likely to be sold anyway, regardless of Keane's contract situation. European clubs don't tend to buy English players, nor do South American clubs. There will be suitors in both regions for Mina however. Keane, on the other hand, will only get sold to another club in England or possibly Celtic / Rangers.

...there might’ve been interest in Keane so the deal could secure a better fee. Either way, I think both he & Mina are sellable assets and I’m a believer of moving players on when their stock is highest and you suspect a dip in form is around the corner.

Ideally we'd try and sell Keane while his stock seems high in Jan. See what this 'january premium' is all about...

Use Godfrey, Holgate, Mina and Branthwaite till season end.

Then offload Mina and sign a superstar centre back in summer.

Michael Keane has been our best defender for a good 18 months, it’s just not fashionable to say so.

One paced to death and not to be trusted high up the pitch, but in terms of out and out defensive abilities, he’s easily the best.

Definitely not for 18 months. He was on the bench a fair amount before football stopped in March. He only got back in the team because Mina got injured in training before the first game back.
