I was thinking this earlier. I reasoned Minas ceiling is higher than Keane, but Keane is more consistent. So a tough one. Can Mina maintain this level for 12 months, as Keane has done?
That's the challenge for Mina. Hes bigger than Keane, and a bit quicker. Not a lot in it, but his best is slightly higher than Keanes. Keane has been very consistent though.
For our squad, we need to have different types of players for each position so Ancelotti can change tactics.
Deep: Godfrey--Keane--Mina--Holgate
High: Digne--Godfrey--Holgate--???
3: Digne--Godfrey--Keane/Mina--Holgate--???
We also have Branthwaite and Nkounkou to develop as well.
I think you need to look at which players can become the best in the league and possibly world class first and that seems to be Digne and Godfrey.
Then, as above who plays with Godfrey from Holgate, Mina and Keane we cant as yet judge as weve not seen Godfrey at centre back.
I would say the next step for the defence as a whole is to bring in a top notch right back or one who will become top class.
With centre backs, sometimes they just dont gel as a partnership but we may find an ideal solution in-house. You dont always need 2 world class centre backs to have a brilliant defence...but it helps
If not in-house then we will probably look to sell one of Keane / Mina and bring in another centre back who is or who can become one of the best around.
Depending on top 4 and Keans situation at PSG we may try for a swap deal for Marquinhos who is ready made top class. Also Badiashile is a young player we could bring in with a left foot with world class potential.
As a right footed player we may find in a couple of seasons Godfrey is RCB and Branthwaite is LCB which could give us alot of balance and blend.
For the next two summers I do think we will move on (at least) one of Keane/Mina and who that is may well depend on who gels with Godfrey.
Nice problems to solve.
