I mentioned about Godfrey a couple of weeks ago...world class potential.

Im excited to see how he does at centre back.

Unlike some (maybe most) posters, i dont mind playing like the old italian 90s teams and building a really strong defence (and defensive midfield) before adding some flair...

Godfrey definitely has the attributes needed to get to the top and its amazing how Brands has picked him out for us really...

Funny weve not had him at CB in a back 4 and im raving about him lol

Called it...

Tremendous. I mean I'm talking like a hybrid of Rio Ferdinand/Vidic tremendous.

Won everything, tackled everything, drove with the ball, just absolutely tremendous and then went left back and just done the same again

Unreal.

That sounds like nonsense hyperbole but on that performance, his ceiling is world class club legend

I mean you can tell nobody has watched Max Aarons, cos how on Earth could you miss this fella.

It's quite funny to watch attackers pull out of challenging for the ball on the sprint when they see this guy is barreling down on them. They just have no chance to beat him to the ball. His acceleration has to be close to world class as it looks like he gets shot out of a rocket when he kicks it into top gear.

This lad is absolute class. He can be world beater.

He’s fast turning into one of our best defenders if he isn’t already. For a young centre back, he seems to have the attributes that you want from a defender in this day and age; a good reading of the game, good aerial presence, quick off the block, strong, alert, composed and good with the ball at his feet. He’s not always been played in his best position and yet he’s shown his quality in each position he’s had to play in.

Another good display from Godfrey...

Passion, power, persistence & electric pace in a motm performance...

When he went out of defence with the ball looked like he had lost it and still come away from 3 defenders with the ball was utter class. This kid 20m pfffffffft definitely gonna be worth 5 times that in the future. Ooooooooozes class

Welcome to the party lads...

This lad has qualities to burn, pace, temperament, timing, aggression, physicality, presence, attitude, leadership, athletisim and hunger.

He’s going to get better and better.

Well played Neiler, you picked him out on day 1.

He looks like he could be our 'superstar' centre back.

He’s just got to stay at centre half now I think. It’s a shame for the other 2 because they’ve done well but he’s earned his place there and to me he should be staying there, hopefully for the next 10 years if he keeps this level up.
Digne isn't looking great defensively at the moment, so temptation would be to leave Godfrey at left back, and play Digne left midfield.

Not for me. 2 players out of position isn’t a long term recipe for success, and probably just leads to 2 unhappy players. There are games when that might be a good option, but I really don’t think it should be the default.
