I would like to think that he will be one of our great Post War Centre-halves following in the huge footsteps of: T.G. Jones, Brian Labone, Kevin Ratcliffe & Dave Watson. I can think of another half a dozen who fall
just short of the Legends.
No chance of being another TG Jones, he was the best of the best, no disrespect to Ben, who has been a great signing, but he is more like Dave Watson, a very good centre back, a tough nut who led by example, put his body on the line for the Blues and was also a great captain, I think Ben can be another Dave Watson and that will be more than enough for me.

Both recruited from the Canaries too

Keown was excellent in his last 18 months for Everton - and was in the England team when he left as well.

He wasnt regarded in the same way as at Arsenal. He really grew at Arsenal. I remember being at the tunnel end at wembley at the zenith data systems cup final( that was the Champions league equivalent, for any kids) and that was the day i think evertonians really took to him. Applauded off the pitch as he went off with a broken nose i think. He had a right battle with bright and wright that day.
Good at Everton. But made his name at arsenal really.
