I really like Godfrey but at times Stones was really exceptional.

Martin keown of Arsenal and martin keown of Everton were two different defenders. Matured more at arsenal. Better team aswell mind.

Both Keown & Adams were not good footballers, I couldn't argue with you if you said that they were good
Rugby players, because they actually tackled with their hands and arms. Arsenal were called the
invincibles , they were cheats at the beginning of 2000 and to prove it with Lauren and Thierry Henry,
and their biggest cheat was Patrick Vieira who is the only player that I have ever seen that would foul most
players even when he had possession of the ball. Did you know that Arsenal cheated their way into the
First Division in 1920 at the expense of Spurs just after WW1. Hence the hatred of Spurs against The Arse.

I wouldnt ever describe keown as a good footballer. Good defender is very different. I love centre halfs who see it as an insult if a striker got the better of them and scored. Keown got to that level where every fan would have him in their team because he hated losing.
All day long give me a centre half like that.

Maybe jazzy, although if Maguire is fit to make the squad I think he is unfit to play for England!!

Spot on. Could you imagine James for instance playing in the same era as Ball. Wouldn’t have got through the warm up most times.
Godfrey might have the attributes required today I suppose, but like most of us, another inch or two wouldn’t go amiss

Yeah its a shame. Are still some about. Just cant be as blatant now.
Another one was baresi. He looked like a new born calf on the ball. But try and score against him. He was having none of it.
