Norwich is a nightmare to travel to/from logistically in my experience. We could probably have a player in from South America quicker.

...I think it about 3 and half hours on the TransPennine Express, dreadful part of the country to travel to. From what I read, talks have been taking place in London.

Lets hope so........the waste of money on Naismith, Windschult, Jarvis.........meant we had to sell Maddison for £24m and we got another £1m when he got his England cap

To be fair, I always liked Naismith, he was a hard worker and he was a great finisher. He worked best floating around and making himself busy and popping up with goals, but he's just not the player you sign to make a team, if you get what I mean. I was surprised when you bought him, but also a little bit sad. But for the money you paid it was an absolute no brainer.

I have been a big fan of Dowells though, and I was always hoping he would get a chance here, but it wasn't to be. But I think Norwich is a great club for him to go to. You seem to want to play good football, and you have brought through some really good prospects in the last few years. Its for that reason as well, that only a month or so ago, I suggested Norwich would be a great place for Davies to maybe go to, either on loan or permanent. There is a player in there somewhere, but he needs a place to play consistently and make a role his own.

But back to Dowell, if he manages to fulfil his potential, I genuinely think he could be the best of the lot, and I'm rooting for him. I heard he had made a decent start, so was gutted to learn he was injured so soon. Hopefully it's not a bad 1 and he picks up where he left off.

...I’m on it, but everything seems to be fleeing that part of the country;

Just a side point - what do you think of £40m Iwobi?
Horrible signing. Seemed to be a total panic buy because we couldn’t get Zaha over the line. Most who want Zaha valued him around 35m before the season started and most would’ve happily seen 20m +Iwobi to palace as a good deal for us.

These kind of mistakes will not be repeated now Carlo is in charge. We bought no first team players in his first window because he wanted to fully assess the team and the 3 starters to have come in have totally transformed us, plus Nkounkou looks an absolute steal from his league cup showings and will feature heavily.

I repeat, we are nto paying £25m for someone to provide 'cover'. He will be developed and play plenty, with the aim being he takes a full time CB spot down road.

Ifwe just wanted cover for Holgate there would have been plenty of options for a season loan on the table.

I agree, I think he'll start after a bedding in period, but £25m these days is pretty average for a young (especially British) player and certainly not an assurance they'll be a first team regular.

Ollie Watkins £30m
Eberechi Eze £20m
Helder Costa £20m
Rodrigo £30m
Nathan Ake £40+m
Fabio Silva £35m
