Once again pace is not enough in a CB.
Far more important are good positional sense and aerial ability, and he is has shown to be sadly lacking in both those areas thus far.
LB for me, give McNeil a lot more cover, lock that side of the pitch down, what he loses in position is why Gueye is there mopping up and monitoring space.
We need athletes to go up against opposition athletes.
 

Can’t see Dyche playing a centre back when the weakest part of his game is commanding the edge of his box and is so poor in the air. No. Hopefully the failed Ben Godfrey experiment is over and he is sold back to Norwich in the summer.
I don't hold Dyche's football in much regard at all, but he's never been the type to pick four centre-backs.

In fact, when Burnley were doing alright, they made quite good use of their full-backs (always decent budget FLP picks).

Godfrey can't compete in the air, so I think you could be right about him being done here if Dyche stays on beyond the summer.
 

In a season of utterly appalling everton performances, I think Godfrey has just tipped the charts with that cameo. I can’t actually believe how bad he was.
