I’d try and angle that Evertonians loved him for being a faux hard man like the authoritarian psychological profile slags they are, but really it’s ok Dyche he keeps on picking him at full back and it keeps costing Everton when you have a far superior player in Patterson for that position.

If/when Everton go down you’re gonna need a manager that can develop younger players and Dyche ain’t showing that so far. Hopefully it will change, but doubtful Patterson will stick around for it.

£20m on Godfrey being a a great example of why Everton are where they are now.

Precisely. We’re going to need the likes of Patterson, Cannon, Branthwaite, Mills and Garner to be the basis of a team if we go down. If Dyche picks Godfrey again I’ll seriously question his judgement and if he is the man to lead us next season, regardless of the league we’re in.

Since when do you even follow Everton, I thought you just make random threads here...

Even more so, how are you sensible all of a sudden?!

What have Everton done to you?!

You can see what Dyche was trying to do. Build from a solid defence with a big, pacey centre half like Godfrey playing at full back, but it's completely backfired. Not only terrible on the ball but even worse in defence.

Patterson has shown he can at least offer something going forward. Dyche has got him but he won't.

Last 3 games though mate he's proven he can't actually defend. The amount of times he stood off and was looking for another player instead of watching his man...

He was a fkin embarrassment tonight. Thay was the worst I've ever seen, had nothing and his manager left him on to suffer.

Very rare you see a player at this level get rinsed so much in 90 minutes but we had it there tonight. I'd genuinely need to watch his first season back to check those performances actually happened because he did have something about him. Since then, it's been some regression.

Really regressed from that first season. Was hoping he'd come in and be an asset to the team with a bit more power and pace down the flank but he was absolutely dreadful today.
Thought when we first signed him he looked good. Another long term inquiry though changed that

Looks that way now. Hence the Dyche shouts.
Our defence is now just as bad as it was with Lampard. Coleman out and replaced by Holgate or Godfrey, and the inexplicable faith Dyche has in Keane is why. Dyche just isn't very good, and he's incredibly stubborn so won't correct obvious mistakes.

Godfrey will turn the fans against Dyche if he is selected again

A few (incl me) are done with Dyche.

Ive never seen an Everton manager actively look like hes trying to lose on purpose.

As long as Coleman is out, Dyche 100% selects Godfrey. If you're in with Dyche, you are in and no amount of poor performances will change that. It's inexplicable, but there it is.

He had a good start...then agsinst United I could see he was totally inept.

Continued in that vein the past 3 games.

The last person to play RB is Godfrey...

Holgate 'maybe' if were sitting deep and going full Ancelotti.

But we have Patterson.
