He did made many important last ditch goal saving clearance and tackles which were so often overlooked by our fans. Probably contributed to our survival in a quiet way. It’s sad to see him leave while we’re still stuck with holgate and Keane.

As bad a header of a football as I’ve ever seen as a centre half…well, him and Holgate. Italy would suit him, Per Kroldrup did well there another centre back who can’t head it. Can maybe get away with it in other leagues, not the prem. Been stinking up the squad way past the point it was clear he wasn’t going to develop. No hard feelings, wish him well, just not a very good centre back.
So Lyon bid £12.7m for Godfrey, but we had to accept a lower offer from Atalanta of €9 million (£7.6m) plus another €1m (£0.9 in add-ons), is that basically the deal? Seems the player rejected Lyon, costing us about £4m, if the fees are to be believed; that's disappointing. Seems Atalanta got a pretty good deal, but I suppose we needed to move him. Best of luck to Ben. Reports are that we still need another sale for PSR...we must be close now.
