It is an odd one that he hasn't been given a go, maybe he just doesn't assert himself in first team training.

I watched a few u23 games this season and he always seemed overly comfortable at that level, closing down, putting tackles in and neat passing.

So few young players actually make it through to be regular first teamers. They come in and usually have a decent run mainly because we as fans are desperate for them to do well. If they make a few tackles and complete some 10 yard passes we have them pencilled in as future captains.
