2019/20 Beni Baningime

Advocating playing someone who had about 3 games, one good one then disappeared for 3 years under really quite weird circumstances is absolutely insane.

Yes he can and will be worse than what we have now and one good game years back doesn’t change that.
Maybe but he should at least get some minutes in rotation and just so we can see if he can be of any use or we need to sell him. When you look at our midfield it's lacking in any energy.

Martinez played Baines in midfield against Newcastle. He even came out before hand and said Baines could be the new Lahm. What a clown lol

It was terrible.

People are saying that ideas like Beni and Baines or Holgate in midfield are 'it can't get any worse' ideas. Actually what about just a creative, inspired idea? We better be open to flare players, unusual ideas, substitutions, etc, if we want to be a better club in the future, because we're not winning anything or going anywhere just by being conventional. Beni isn't an option because there's no other choice - he's a young player who might - like DCL and Holgate and Evans - thrive if he's given the chance, when we don't have an energetic midfielder, and Davies is currently not channeling it right.

We've had Gylfi Sigurdsson in almost every single match and paid significant money for both Delph and Schneiderlein. "Dignity" isn't something we really have a lot of at this point.

And Im not saying he's the answer because he surely would have been featuring SOMEHOW if he was. It's just that our midfield can't possibly get any worse than our current scenario.

Our manager and his team coach and observe Baningime every day and if and when they deem him capable of contributing then he will get his chance.
Management is about good judgement not histrionic straw clutching.

Im honestly not arsed, I just find it laughable that people think a player who has played 11 senior games of football at the age 21 is the answer to all our problems.

He isn't

But the incumbent players aren't delivering, so why not freshen it up?

The whole point of having a squad is that when someone keeps pooping the bed you have someone else who can step up and have a stab at it

There's plenty of reasons why he wouldn't get picked that don't include him not being good enough as well by the way

Maybe Ancelotti has wanted to give the incumbents every chance he can before pulling the plug? Maybe he's been carrying a knock we haven't heard about? Maybe Ancelotti has been trying out tactical scenarios in training and he wants Beni to be fully up to speed before starting him so he's not just thrown in at the deep end?

Simply saying "he's not playing, that must mean he isn't good" doesn't cover the variables
