He will leave one positive thing from his time at the club.

What's the old saying? "To appreciate the highs you have to experience the lows"? Something like that anyway.

His appointment is an indelible stain upon this great club.

Nothing against the man himself either. But his time here will always be a remnant of us being so low that the club actively appointed an unsuitable manager (for a number of reasons) against the fans wishes. We as a whole club should strive to never be in that position again. That' the positive that needs to come out of the situation.

Just an utter shambles.

Oh and bringing in Gray. He is pretty decent.

I actually think he was desperate to do well, there is real ego there. That bring said hiring someone because they don't want to have to take more than one bus to work is a bit mental

The problem is though mate it was all about him, we're crap it's not his fault and he blamed the players, he never took any blame. Even when we sacked him he took no responsibility.

I honestly think the most frustrating thing is, he actually started off well.

Leeds, Brighton we played really well, and showed some excellent counter attacking football, which was nice on the eye in stages.

Some of the joke games started scrappy, but we showed signs of turning the corner.

Then he just gave up with 3 in the middle, and started his usual deflection game and I just couldn’t see why? As soon as he went two in the middle, we just suffered.

Awful manager, stubborn for his own good, and a massive ego.

Nevertheless thanks for Demarai Gray, who’s been amazing and for Townsend, who shows that wearing a blue shirt, even if you’re not very good, isn’t a free pass.
Townsend is an excellent professional, excellent.

Reflecting on today, how can you disagree.

He’s the exact professional you want. Understands what a huge club Everton is, tries hard no matter what, and whilst he’s poured he loves being here.
He has more impact than for instance Kevin Kilbane and always gives 100%. He has a similar effect to someone like Phil Neville in terms of attitude. Can't knock him.
