Mykolenko was excellent today. Growing into that left back position now he's had time to adjust. Looks astute from Benitez.

According to the pro Benitez spin doctors, we were always going to struggle regardless. I don't buy in or subscribe to that theory though.

He did bomb James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne out of the club, and he destroyed the players confidence with his negative football, and abrasive confrontational personality.

So yes the struggles this season were very much caused by appointing Benitez, and keeping him on for way too long.

June 30th 2021 will always be remembered as a dark day in the history of this football club.
