Seriously though... on burgers my wife and I both feel like we can make them better at home than any takeaway spot. Buy the ground meat fresh, use it the same day, mix in seasonings, cook it and top it however you want.

However I am on a tireless quest to find top Nashville hot chicken. Still haven't found a place I want to visit more than once or twice.

Sounds like it’s might take a little over 5mins to go to the shop, buy the ingredients, make and cook you own, so not sure it’s quite fast food, but I agree with the sentiment.

Five Guys is overpriced but they do do tasty burgers, their chips are fantastic, and their portions are generous.

The best burger joints are always random independents.

Is Five Guys the one with free peanuts? Any US chain I've tried in Europe is disappointing (although I must admit a soft spot for a Bacon Cheese King) because of the 'fries'. Now a good burger with some proper chippie chips would be a hit.

Yeah, that’s the one. Also use peanut oil for their fries, so basically if you have a nut allergy avoid the place like the plague.

If you’re talking chain places the best I’ve had here is 5 Guys or Shake Shack. Both overpriced but good. In America I’d go with Popeyes but the ones I’ve had here aren’t that good. Jollybees is an absolute scam, never had their chicken on the bone so maybe that’s what I’m missing but burgers are no better then Nabzys or something like that
