Who was the lad Johnathan somebody? Think he was a centre half around the time of Graeme Allen. He played right back against boro away and crossed for Tony Grant to volley home.
 
Tony (Rodney) Grant arrived just in time for the 'dogs of war' era. I remember Joe Royle saying 'he'll be a player', probably before muttering under his breath (not in my team he won't). Took John Ebrell five minutes to make the necessary adjustment, kicking anything that moved from that day on.

the lad you are thing about is Jonathan o'connor jon for short made a few starts with Everton in the 95-96 season
he used to be going out with a bird that was on a tv show here in ireland back then fair city it was called.

funny you mention him i was talking to him at the man utd Everton game back in the 96-97 season at goodison
it was a midweek game teddy sheringham scored his first utd goal that night we lost 2 nil.

YES! I was waiting for this one.

The old academy was right by my house, you'd see games from time to time, and the lad just tore everyone a new one every game. Disappointing that he never made it here.
