Best male vocalist….

Shout out for Eddie Vedder, Ozzy Osborne, Pavarotti, since Bowie snd Mercury have been said already.
Eddie Vedder?

Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan and Layne Staley were all far better singers, from the same era, region and musical style.

Vedder's diction is horrible. He sounds like Vic Reeves' club singer.

Staley and Lanegan for me. Both phenomenal.

Captain Beefheart was also an amazing singer.

Sam Cooke is underrated for me, too. it's always Otis or Marvin. He was better than both.

I think I care for woman 'good singers' a lot more then men, but Jeff Buckley has a great voice.

My gf says Neil from Slowdive is the best male singer she has seen live. It never really crossed my mind about him tbh, but she has had training in singing/can sing so knows way more than me

Surprised. I adore Slowdive, and Neil's solo records, but have never regarded him as a particularly good singer. Musically, he's on something different to anyone else though.

Freddie, no one else comes close. He could sing anyone's songs and make them amazing, people struggle to match him.

Finally Staley get's a shout, yet no one has mentioned Dio. How all that voice was crammed into such a tiny man was a feat in itself. What Hatfield did on unchained still boggles the mind, reached and held notes consecutively that are unimaginable.
