Nicholson is pretty ace at playing creepy. I think they were right to change it. It just got atomsphere that few horror movies have.I know we are talking about ending here, but I never understand the love for the Shining. Having read the book, I’m in complete agreement with Stephen King that the movie is just nowhere near as good. In the book, Jack Nicholson’s character is written sympathetically - he’s a guy struggling to hold his family together and turns to the drink so he’s already in the slippery slope, which makes him susceptible to losing it, but in the movie he’s an ars3hole from the outset. Quite bemused as to why the critics have come to like it.
It’s got great atmosphere - it was just the way the character was written for me in the movie, and also Shelley Duvall’s character who in the book is quite strong but in the movie is a bit of a wimpNicholson is pretty ace at playing creepy. 'The Dude abides'... Just a reminder to take it easy. I always feel content with life after watching the 'The Big Lebowski'.
That one with Di Caprio and Walberg.
You're like "come on he's gonna do it" then bam, angry yet calculated and clean.
The cast alone was ridiculous! The Departed. Underrated film.
I hope Bobby and Al make a few more films together before one of them kicks the bucket.View attachment 223463
yep, still excellent cinema.
Think they're done unless they're making a new set of 'look who's talking' films....The cast alone was ridiculous!
