DCL doesn’t score either of those goals.

DCL was clean through on goal against Spurs the other week with no player within 20 yards of him and he didn’t even manage to get a shot off. There’s no way in the world he would have slotted either of those chances today. In fact, add in Doucoure’s opener as well.

Fair point. Few opportunities for Dom this season. Good chance he’d see a revival under Moyes if the injury hadn’t occurred. I noticed an improvement in him.

Has he? We have hardly made any chances the last 2 seasons.

Strikers need to make runs to get the chances, give the midfielders somewhere to play the ball into, ie Beto today.

DCL would rather back into the defender, for sure wasnt helped by the previous manager but he also didnt help himself.

Give him through balls to run on to, like today, and he’ll score.

Limited but all that means is that we’ve got to adapt and play to his strengths.

Was speaking to by brother during the game, we both agreed he may actually be more a Moyes striker than DCL actually... Johnson we used to play in behind like that, Bent Moyes loved running the channels like he can too.

I think the big thing for him is getting a bit fitter as well. Like his visibly tired 2nd half. In fairness it's not really his fault as he hasn't been used much.

Beto I thought was very good today, as all the players have been under a proper footballing manager, long may it continue.

Too right. Can’t fault the lad on today’s performance. Here’s hoping he gets more in the coming weeks.

Too many times Dom took that extra step or dribble instead of instinctively going for goal. Still think he’d improve under Moyes like everyone else has demonstrated.

Maybe because there's a comparison to be made..

I'm not seeing comparisons being made other than "DCL would never have scored those today" which isn't true.

It's just unnecessary negativity from people who, most likely will have drawn a similarly negative conclusion about Beto prior to today.

The previous manager talked us down almost every opportunity he had, the media talked us down. We've just won 3 in a row, scored 4 goals.

The comparison isn't needed until there is a choice between which one plays - which isn't an issue until DCL is fit.

Real sliding doors moment for the fella, no injury to Broja and DCL and I reckon hes in Italy now, forgotten, written off as a flop.

But Super Davey Moyes comes in, teaches him how to play football in a week and he will grab himself double figures in the next 15 games.

DCL made runs too mate. But we have spent 2 years whacking the ball 8 ft in the air to him and Beto with nobody within 20 yards of them.
