2024/25 Beto

Like to see him get more then 10 mins at the end of a game.
There is no doubt that DCL is starved of good service but I also think he looks a shadow of the player he was before his injury. He seems to have lost some of his mobility and pace and certainly seems to have lost some of his willingness to chase lost causes.

It is clear he is very low in confidence and maybe a couple of goals could change his whole game.

Regarding Beto, I think he is limited but sitting on the bench every week and not getting on the pitch hardly ever certainly makes it difficult for any player to come on and make an impact.

I think his attitude, work rate and obvious desire to do well has earned him the right to a start.
When a player leaves it until the final year of his contract their mind cant be totally focused on the club they are playing with. DCL is 28 and is looking at all his options and knows that if another club offers the deal he wants he can take it while knowing Everton are ready to give him a deal if those offers don`t come in.
Beto gives it everything when he gets his chance and is under contract for next season.
I dont understand why we buy a CF, have them under contract, and yet leave them sitting on the bench while the guy thats running his deal down is starting every week.

It's not lack of service to Dom with the amount of chances he's had this season he should be on 7 to 8 goals.
His finishing has been dreadful.

Just seen the lads interview. Shows real passion for the shirt and seems a really humble lad.
Hope he kicks on from here.
His first touch needs to improve and he is not as good an all round centre forward as DLC. Think he needs the ball into the penalty box and to play to his height and strength more.

Honestly, I think it's a bit of both. DCL has missed far too many gilt-edged chances but he's also gone whole games without a sniff. Both our chances created and DCL's finishing need to improve to give us some breathing room.

He plays very much like a bloke who didn’t come through an academy and was serving fried chicken not so long ago.

Someone posted on here he would make a good Championship striker and I absolutely agree.

If he ended up at Celtic or Rangers he would be a cult hero.

I think he’s 100 effort , he seems like a good lad and also totally genuine . Like I said earlier I think if you’re chasing a game his all energy , hustle and bustle is probably a useful weapon . If you’re trying to hold a lead then I think his positional discipline means he’s not getting on and the manager seems to have learnt that lesson after Bournemouth.
When he came tactical changes were made with Nydaie moving into middle, was the first time Everton was set up to play to his strengths, play off shoulder. Which lasted 2 mins before it was changed again to suit lumping it again due McNeil injury. Still took his 2 chances both on target saved and then scores. Done more in 14 minutes than DCL has done in several entire games when it comes to scoring.
