2024/25 Beto

I think this is a good point. Like people act like tactics are like a button on a computer game. They are a reflection of the balance of the game.
Exactly. It’s like when people used to say ‘why are they using maupay as a target man?’. Well they’re not trying to are they. I mean lampard had his flaws but he wasn’t a complete madman, he wasn’t sending the team out with the intention of them launching it in the air to a 5ft nothing striker, that’s just what we ended up doing because we couldn’t get enough of a grip of games to do whatever we were actually aiming to do.The same applies now.

Moyes blaming Beto for the goal. “He has to retain it…”

He is becoming somewhat of a buffoon in my eyes

If you asked Evertonians to list any and all attributes of Beto none would suggest hold up play.

Using him and Doucoure while not putting balls in front of them is absolute stupidity.

The strike right before he came off could have easily been a goal and was only one of a couple of times he had a favourable pass.

He took the ball from Alcaraz and lost it. Hes never going to be a target mam, nor a link player or anything but someone who you put the ball in front of.

I don’t think I want us to keep any of our forwards. None of them are good enough.
With so many players being out of contract in the summer will it not leave even more spaces to fill in the squad to try offload the few players we have under contract? I think Beto is going to leave as Moyes doesn`t like him.

I'm glad he got to have a proper run of games and he done so well with some of thos goals. That Brentford game where he missed chance after chance definitely made him crawl back into his shell and I don't think he's ever really recovered from that.

We paid too much for him to be a back up striker and tbf if we were holding onto a lead with 10 minutes to go, you wouldn't bring him on as he struggles so badly with his back to goal. So, I'd say thanks for that lovely little burst of goals which went a long way to keeping us up, then stick him on the transfer list and see if we can get about 15-18m for him.

Seems like a lovely fella but there's no way Moyes will trust him to be 1st choice striker next season due to the huge flaws he has in his game.

Absolutely 💯, Don't think he is suited to the English game in any division, can't control the ball.

I don't mind Beto he gives his all and is a threat running behind and if we had more vision in the team he would score more but that said his hold up play is poor and his football IQ is low given he started football late. So we get a bid of around 15-20m he has to go his hold up skills are not good.
