Anyone know if we are getting an extended finale for this or if it will just be in and around the normal 50-60 minutes?

I'm not asking for like a stranger things type 2 and a half hour episode, but an extra 15 or 20 mins over the hour would be good I think
Yep it's about 75 minutes I think. :)

Just about to settle in and watch it. Man, including Breaking Bad, been watching this incredible show since 2008.

What a shame for it all to come to an end, but thankfully there are plenty of episodes to reminisce about. All good things must come to an end!

Now hoping justice prevails and Jimmy end up in prison!

I feel there is a good chance of him giving himself up, but there can be no redemption for what he's done. I think he'll try to escape, but ultimately he won't get far enough and will give himself up to the police, IMO, taking the rap for Kim and allowing her to get on with her life, while he takes the punishment he deserves. I would be satisfied with that ending.
Almost spot on.

But what a touching but heartbreaking scene at the very end where there were still genuine feelings from them both, yet you know it can never be. He even negotiated a miracle to get it down to seven years but ended up with 86.

Alas, his taking the rap for Kim wasn't enough to earn any kind of future, even though it looks like he's set to thrive in prison, as much as you can thrive in a place like that.

This episode he went from Gene, to Saul, to Jimmy and back to Saul, and that's who he'll stay for the rest of his days.

What a series!

I'm torn on how that ended.

I absolutely expected Jimmy to end up in prison, and honestly anyone expecting a different, more positive end for Jimmy/Saul obviously haven't been paying attention to this or Breaking Bad. The show writers don't forgive or reward people like Walt and Saul. I expect some people wanted a more bang bang flashy ending but this worked better for me. In fact, I think anything other then Jimmy going away like that would've done a disservice to the story.

Jimmy had his Walt "I did it for me" moment and is finally able let it all go, have a clear conscience and do right by the woman he loved. The final scene is similar to the old black-and-white movies that Jimmy and Kim used to watch together. Its like Casablanca and the "we'll always have Paris" line. It might not be what you wanted for Jimmy but its what he deserves and he knows it.

The problem I've got with the ending is that NOBODY in real life would sabotage their own trial to that extent and willingly turn a cushy prison and seven year sentence into into an 80 plus year life sentence in an utter hell hole just to make a point. Yes I know he did it for Kim and himself so he could finally lay Saul Goodman to rest, but come on!

As the episode played out, here’s what I expected to happen:

I assumed he would hear about the possibility of Kim being sued and he would still take the deal. There would then be a flash forward maybe a year or two and his prison life would be very comfortable and he would be popular amongst his fellow inmates due to his amenable personality and past as a defence attorney. At some point he would be made aware that Kim was tied up in massive civil litigation, was basically penniless but still doing her legal aid work and at that point he would confess and finally put Saul Goodman to rest.

I know his co-counsel Oakley told him on the plane that Howard’s widow was shopping around for lawyers, but I feel a bit like you in that I don’t think anyone would trade 7 years for 86 based on something potentially happening.

Still, those final scenes were very poignant so overall it was a really good finale with the appropriate overall ending (Jimmy in prison, Saul persona dead, at peace with Kim)

My take on it was that if he took the 7 years he would lose Kim forever and forever be Saul.
He was always thinking many moves ahead and said what he needed to to ensure Kim was in court.
He was able to admit his actions in front of her and shed Saul and be Jimmy again.
He has won her back but they will never be together.

Great show.

This show has come a long way from erotic toilets and billboard stunts

a fantastic show, and one for the ages

while it didn't match the white knuckle intensity of Breaking Bad (no show really can) , i'd say the thoughtful characters and the incredible detailed plot lines make this more than a match for BB

and we shouldn't forget just how funny this show has been at times

The city of Albuquerque owes these two shows a heck of a lot

...... and thats a wrap. Season 6 was absolutely brilliant and for me that was a very good ending. Loved how he accepted Saul Goodman was dead and wanted to live the rest of his days as James McGill.

Spin off series are damn hard to pull off, especially when the TV show before, Breaking Bad, which for me is easily top 3 all time.... but they managed to tell a story which held its own and keep the audience interested for 6 seasons.

Impressive writing from Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould and co.... All good things come to an end.
