Big Friedkin Rebuild

Thing with that is though, are you dropping Tarkowski or Branthwaite to try a newbie?

I'm not sure I'd be so keen to do that. One thing we always needed was depth, or rather quality depth.

If we can't play every single player we think we should be playing then that's a reasonably good sign. CB seems to be one area where we aren't lacking - Branthwaite, Tarkowski, O'Brien and dare I say Keane. They can't all play all at once.
You’re right, and they’d be the starters for sure, but when Braithwaite was injured, we had O’Brien but Dyche played Keane. He trusts experience over youth there, even though Keane’s record says he’s more likely to make a whopping error than play a blinder.

But Keane did well. If he'd been poor and not tried O'Brien then that'd be bad but Keane played the best he'd ever played for us during that time.

I know, which is why we as fans shouldn’t pick the team 😂 But, the odds were that Keane was more likely to cock up and we’d supposedly brought O’Brien in to give us more options at CB.

Mangala hasn't got the legs for this league and Broja isn't good enough for the fee Chelsea will want.

Any reasonable signings you fancy for Jan?

Dont tempt Dyche with that last sentence

Love what's happening this season for Forest. The old guard at Everton and many fans will have you believe that we can't challenge the top. The last decade has clubs that show you this is not true. Leicester, Newcastle, Villa, and there's Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham. All with something to prove. The old guard at Everton and the Dyche army would have you believe that we are only good enough for fighting relegation each season.

So the moral of the story is TFG need to change us from being this failure ridden club to one that is a winning one.

Ye, I would imagine that would involve some investment like all of those teams you have mentioned have had

Based on the list of position needs at the beginning of this thread and some ancillary prospect breakdowns i've found. Not an experrt on these but some names worth a shortlist spot. Price via transfermarkt (definitely not accurate but what can you do). Will say I think RB and ST are tough holes in this price range. Either massive price discrepancies or just a shallower pool comparable from what i've been able to find.

Firstly, good list.

Second, not that iwant to dampen your list, but anyone under 22, will be due Compensation; which may rule us out.

Just going to throw it out there; seeing we just got bought by a mega richer fella, and we just got rid of a heap of debt, and we really need some reinforcements we need some sort of bargaining position [excuse] why we cannot pay full value - enter PSR. Now I really don't hope or want a spending splurge in January, I would like us to be strategic and wait for the summer, maybe with a new manager and style in mind, if that's what's on the horizon. Therefore 2 maybe 3 quality additions at fair value is the aim, enter every 2nd word needs to reference PSR to give Kevin wriggle room which seems to be what's happening.

We are going to have to spend money and a lot of it in the summer whether we like it or not.

Players and coaching staff all out of contract so I just hope they get the recruitment right this time because the last time we did this it went pear shaped.

Now is the time to prepare but laying down a style of play and identifying the targets who will fit into that system of play.

Need a new manager first though
