I can see why people may have that view, but for me if we're considering their 'on-the-pitch' influence then Southall has to be right up near to or in the top echelons.
His demeanour at the time by not looking for the limelight and his outspoken attitude since, failure to toe the club line, have shaped his image away from glory.
Out of the 80s squad, I can't think of someone who was pivotal to our success bar the boss himself. Over a larger period, he still sits above nearly everyone.
